Ethics Training Requirements
ICF has issued an ethics training requirement, beginning in 2016, for renewal of ICF Credentials.
If your ICF Credentials are slated to expire on or after December 31, 2016, then you must demonstrate completion of at least three (3) Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units in the area of coaching ethics to be eligible to renew your credentials as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Professional Certified Coach (PCC) or Master Certified Coach (MCC).
There are a number of ways to obtain ethics-specific training, including CCE programs and ICF Chapter events.
ICF Global will be offering a free ethics training course consisting of on-demand video, a case study, and final exam. Upon successful completion of all three parts of the ICF Global ethics training, you will be guaranteed three CCEUs in coaching ethics to address the new requirement. This course will provide three of the required 24 Core Competency CCE units for ICF credential renewal.
- ICF members who do not hold ICF credentials are not required to take the training.
- Those seeking all levels of ICF credentials must, as before, successfully complete ICF’s Coach Knowledge Assessment, including ethics questions, as part of the credentialing process.
