The development of leaders is crucial to business success. Few positions influence employee engagement as much as a leader does.

The presenter, Mark Matson will demonstrate how to assess a leadership coachee’s Leadership skills using the ICF core competencies and the Leadership 360 model, based on the research in Mastering Leadership. During a live coaching demonstration attendees will see how 18 “Creative” leadership skills and 11 “Reactive” leadership skills are identified. This
presentation can provide powerful information to inform self-awareness and an individual development plan for leaders at all levels of an organization.

Mark Matson, recently completed four days of certification training by Leadership Circle. He will briefly review the core concepts of the research behind the 360 instrument (10 minute overview), show how the feedback data is organized, and
demonstrate how it can be used in coaching by working with a chapter member who has completed an LC self-assessment. Mark recently completed 62 hours of ICF-approved coach certification training and will incorporate related
competencies, particularly creating an internal coaching agreement, establishing trust, creating awareness, active listening, initial questions, and planning and goal setting.

Learning Objectives:
• Thorough modeling of a powerful leadership development process and related coaching skills.
• Understanding of how to incorporate ICF core competencies in conjunction with the Leadership 360 tool and coaching to inform a leader’s self-awareness.
• Understanding how a coach can guide a leader through the data to prioritize learning goals and develop a learning and growth plan.
• Following the demonstration the participants will be able to practice the observed coaching skills with sample results at their tables.
